Africa-Press – Angola. 1.o de Agosto’s coach, Filipe Nzanza, said this Sunday that his team never stopped believing in obtaining a good result against Petro de Luanda.
The coach provided this information after the 1-1 draw, at the Coqueiros stadium, in the country’s capital, in a game related to the 1st round of the National Football Championship of the I division “Girabola’2023-24”.
“We faced the champion and we knew the difficulties, but we never stopped believing in a draw when we were behind on the scoreboard”, he reiterated.
He added that it was a good challenge, with opportunities shared in search of victory, where both teams only managed to score in the last 45 minutes.
For coach Alexandre Santos, from Petro de Luanda, the “classics” always have unpredictable results, just as they happened.
“A classic can be lucky for either side. We could have won, but it wasn’t possible” – he lamented.
The Portuguese coach complained about the refereeing team’s criteria, mainly after Petro had scored the goal.
For him, the refereeing unbalanced his team from an emotional point of view, adding that he did not understand the reasons.
