Africa-Press – Angola. The writer Lucas Katimba presented, this Friday, in Huambo, the literary work entitled “Mutamba e Uma Obesa na Casa Rosa”, in a ceremony well attended by members of the local government and academics.

The author, resident in the province of Benguela, informed that the book, with 69 pages, is based on the daily lives of Angolans, with a focus on preserving collective memory and safeguarding the moral principles narrated, from a pedagogical, playful, fun and relaxed perspective.

He said that Mutamba, despite being a location in Luanda, the country’s capital, is also narrated as a character committed to superstition or fetishism.

In the first phase, he said, 500 copies were taken, of which 200 are being sold in the province of Huambo, worth four thousand Kwanzas.

When intervening in the event, the secretary general of the Government of the province of Huambo, Tiago Camgombe António, encouraged the writer to continue in the literary world, with the aim of not only encouraging the habit of reading, but also contributing to the recovery of values cultural and enriching Angolan literature.

Born in Benguela, in 1987, Lucas Katimba, graduated in sociology and member of several cultural associations, including Brigada Jovem de Literatura, also has a work “Diários de Um Forasteiro e Outra Crónicas”, released in 2018.
