Africa-Press – Angola. The province of Moxico may miss the National Judo Championship, taking place from the 3rd to the 5th of November, in Malanje, due to lack of financial support, said, this Monday, in Luena, the president of the Provincial Association of the sport, Osvaldo Paiva.

He said that so far 30 athletes from various clubs, from different categories, have been prepared.

Despite the little time left until the start of the championship, he said that the group continues to request support, to allow it to cover expenses and guarantee its presence in the city of Palanca Negra Gigante and adequately represent the province in the national competition.

Among the athletes qualified for the national championship, the presence of FC Bravos do Maquis, Jovens de Hoje and 22 de Novembro stands out in different categories.

The province of Moxico has already participated in more than nine national championships and tournaments, with the highest point being 2021, when two athletes from the junior and cadet categories became champions in the 66kg category.

The Judo Association in the province of Moxico controls more than 400 athletes, distributed across 11 academies and three clubs.
