Africa-Press – Angola. A hundred employees of the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) in the province of Lunda Sul have been participating since Friday, in Saurimo, in a training seminar on border trade and the legal regime of refugee citizens and asylum seekers.
For four days, participants assigned to the Local Technical Unit of the Coordinated Border Management Committee will also absorb knowledge about agreements on the free movement of people and goods in border areas and the export of national products.
At the opening, the provincial director of the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME), Vidal Coutinho, highlighted the importance of training, as it contributes to improving the supervision and performance of its staff along the border areas.
He stated that the SME will continue to work on preventing and combating migration and illegal trade, encouraging staff to carry out their missions with rigor and dedication.
The SME in Lunda Sul controls 825 foreign citizens with the status of holders of a work visa, temporary stay, residence, refugee card and provisional declarations of asylum application.
