Africa-Press – Angola. Four of the 11 athletes called up for the Junior National Team for the African swimming event were, this Friday, the attraction of the Luanda Provincial Championship, which takes place at the Nádia Cruz swimming pool, in Rio Seco.

This is athlete Rhanya Santos, from Clube Náutico (CNIL), who won gold in the 200 m style, with a time of 2:45.05, followed by Beatriz Pedro (2:54.10) and Kenenise Vongo (2:55.38), both on the 1st of August.

The other ambassador, who will represent the country in the African competition of Mauritius, from the 6th to the 10th of December, Nyriam Morais, also from the CNIL, won the gold medal in the 400 meter freestyle (5.06.03), surpassing her opponent from 1 .° of August, Jasmine Lourenço, who took silver (5.21.70).

Third place in the category, bronze medal, went to Neizla Santos, also from CNIL (5: 30.04).

In the men’s category, highlight goes to the also selected David Padre, from the CNIL, gold medal (4:26.75), in the 400m freestyle.

Also a member of the national team (CNIL), José Cochofel, won silver (4:46.81), while Emanuel Chocolate, from 1.° de Agosto, was third, bronze medal (5:10.83).

David Padre triumphed again in the 1500m freestyle, obtaining gold (18:24.85), in a course in which he beat Emanuel Chiocolate (19:59.93) and the individual athlete, Mário Melo (20:47.68).

Another reference was the 1.° de Agosto swimmer, Enzo Anjos, who led the 200m style, winning gold (2:19.78), followed by José Cochofel (2:25.90). Ezequiel Pongolola finished third (2:34.90).

After the conclusion of the first day of the Luanda Provincial Swimming Championship, the CNIL leads the medal table, with 12 gold, seven silver and five bronze.

The 1st of August comes next with eight gold, six silver and four bronze.

The event continues on Saturday, starting at 8am.
