Africa-Press – Angola. The collective effort was (Saturday), in the country’s capital, highlighted by Petro de Luanda’s coach, Alexandre Santos, as the key to the victory over Santa Rita do Uíge, 2-0, in a match on the 2nd round of the National Football Championship (Girabola2023/24).
Speaking to the press at the end of the match, played at the Coqueiros stadium, the coach said that this attitude showed the maturity of the squad, which maintained the advantage achieved in the initial stage.
He added that, even in the second half, when the rival created opportunities for a draw, the group looked for the third goal, with several moves, but in the wrong direction.
He recognized that, despite this, the rise of the Uíge team in the second half forced a brake on the attack, in order to have more possession of the ball, with a view to avoiding the loss of the first three points.
With this result, the national champion has four (4) points, after the draw in the debut, against 1o de Agosto, by 1-1, while Santa Rita, without scoring, has a second defeat, after suffering against Sagrada Esperança da Luanda Norte (0-2).
Perhaps due to the failure, the technical team of the club from the province of Uige did not speak to the press.
