Africa-Press – Angola. Ninety-four billion, 460 million, 346 thousand and 94 kwanzas is the value of revenue and expenses foreseen in the proposal for the General State Budget (OGE) allocated to the province of Cuanza Sul for the 2024 economic year, you know, this Monday.
The data was presented, in the city of Sumbe, by the provincial governor, Job Capapinha, adding that, compared to the 2023 OGE proposal, there was an increase of 10 billion, 329 million, 902 thousand and 193 kwanzas.
According to the official, who was speaking at the opening of the third ordinary session of the local government, with this amount, the Executive will ensure the payment of public service salaries and complete the projects included in the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) .
Likewise, he said, the funds will be applied to Local Development and Poverty Combat programs (PDLCP), Participatory Budgeting, health and education services, among other projects.
In this sense, he called on public managers to redouble their efforts to guarantee the social and economic development of the region and the well-being of the populations.
‘Since the budget is still insufficient for the countless needs of the populations we govern, we are called to gather intelligence and maintain a State stance, in order to, with the participation of citizens, reduce the suffering of the populations, especially from the perspective of combating hunger and poverty”, he added.
The meeting addressed topics related to the OGE/2024 proposal, the program of festivities alluding to National Independence Day, to be celebrated on November 11th, the military recruitment and incorporation process and the VIII Edition of the Countryside Fair.
Members of the local government, municipal administrators, among other guests, participated in the meeting.
With an area of 55,660 square kilometers, the province of Cuanza Sul has an estimated population of two million and 200 thousand people, spread across 12 municipalities and 36 communes.
