MPLA elects six new municipal secretaries in Huambo

Africa-Press – Angola. Six of the 11 MPLA municipal committees in the province of Huambo concluded the election of new first secretaries, during extraordinary balance and mandate renewal conferences.

These are Gabriel Cassuia (Huambo), Avelino Sambuanda Luís (Caála), Justino Camota (Bailundo), Beatriz Tutuvala Filipe Gervásio (Londuimbali), Alberto Praia Xavier (Ucuma) and Elias Sambuanda (Ecunha).

The election of the new first municipal secretaries took place within the scope of the staff rotation strategy, with the aim of providing greater dynamism in the functioning of the party’s base structures, in order to increasingly enable the insertion of new militants.

In their interventions, the politicians acknowledged that it was not an easy task, but they hope to count on the collaboration of all cadres and activists, to make the party stronger, safer, more cohesive, united and victorious.

According to the definitive results of the elections of 24 August last, released by the National Electoral Commission (CNE), the MPLA obtained, in the Huambo provincial circle, 308 thousand 731 votes, electing three deputies, out of a total of 561 voters, from one million 103 thousand 685 predicted.
