The Minister of Territorial Administration, Dionísio Manuel da Fonseca, will participate from the 14th to the 17th of November, in the Commonwealth Conference on Local Governance, taking place in Kigali, Rwanda, under the motto, “Building Resilience at the Local Level to Responding to the Shocks and Challenges of Inclusive and Sustainable Development”.
The high-level conference, which takes place every two years, is a platform for exchanging experiences on development policies in Africa and across the Commonwealth.
The Minister of Territorial Administration, Dionísio Manuel da Fonseca, has planned, on the sidelines of the conference, courtesy meetings with various entities in the Rwandan capital, including with his counterpart Jean Claude Musabyimana, to assess the framework of relations and provide perspectives cooperation between the two sectors within the scope of the Cooperation Protocol, signed in the field of Local Administration.
The governor’s agenda also includes a courtesy meeting with Reverend Mpho Moruakgomo, president of the CLGF, a visit to the Kigali city government, where he will discuss issues about local elections, information on the functioning of local governance and city management. nor as transfers and powers from central administration to local administration, among others.
