Africa-Press – Angola. Thirty-seven women from various social strata in the city of Sumbe, Cuanza Sul province, benefited, this Wednesday, from professional kits, with a view to promoting income-generating activities in their communities.
In an initiative by the Municipal Administration of Sumbe, women received hairdressing kits, manicures, pedicures, among others, after receiving training in their respective areas of activity.
When speaking at the event, the deputy administrator of Sumbe, Vanda Lafayete, appealed to the beneficiaries to correctly use the resources received, in order to promote self-employment to support their families.
“We urge you to take good care of these resources made available to you. Meanwhile, the municipal administration will carry out monitoring to determine whether the business is actually being implemented, because many women, after receiving the products, put them up for sale”, she lamented.
On the occasion, citizen Paula Zinho, one of the beneficiaries, praised the Executive’s efforts in improving the quality of life of the population, particularly this fringe of society.
‘I have always believed in the Government’s work to improve women’s quality of life, because by creating a small business we can support our families, so we are all to be congratulated”, he highlighted.
In turn, Emília José, who received a hairdressing kit, said that she is going to open a beauty salon.
In the municipality of Sumbe, more than 200 people, including former military personnel, have already benefited from professional kits, within the scope of the Integrated Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty.
