Africa-Press – Angola. The ambassador of the United States of America to Angola, Tulinabo Mushingi, praised, this Thursday, in Luanda, the strengthening of diplomatic and economic cooperation with Angola over three decades.
The diplomat, who was speaking at the opening of the International Education Week and the Global Entrepreneurship Week, said that the growth of the partnership can provide positive results for both peoples.
Tulinabo Mushingi highlighted the investment of more than 70 American companies in the Angolan market, carrying out important projects, including US$900 million in financing for the solar energy development program in Sub-Saharan Africa, as well as direct investment of US$250 million for the transformation of the Lobito Corridor and 363 million to build 186 bridges in the 18 provinces.
“We are building reliable mobile telecommunications services, modernizing the national broadcasting system, providing low-cost drinking water solutions, improving aviation security and much more,” he said.
For the ambassador, the principles of diversity, equity, accessibility and inclusion are pillars for a prosperous economy, a spirit that is expressed through the various exchange programs in the areas of sport, education and entrepreneurship.
For his part, the Secretary of State for Higher Education, Eugénio da Silva, considered the fair an opportunity to publicize the possibilities for Angolan students to study in the United States of America, following the demands made.

The official explained that the country has a shortage of courses in the areas of health and agricultural sciences, a factor that makes it possible for young people to train abroad.
The fair for American companies investing in Angola, American higher education institutions and young Angolans who have already benefited from exchanges in the most diverse areas of knowledge filled the tents at the venue.
Angola and the United States signed, in 2010, a strategic partnership agreement, and cooperate in several areas, with emphasis on trade, finance, energy, manufacturing industry, security, health and justice.
Angola is the USA’s third largest trading partner in Sub-Saharan Africa, mainly due to oil exports. The two countries cooperate in several areas, with emphasis on trade, finance, energy, manufacturing, security, health and justice.
Trade between the two countries reached, until November 2019, around 1.4 billion dollars.
