Africa-Press – Angola. The deputy prime minister and minister of International Relations and Cooperation of Namibia, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, highlighted, in Windhoek, the strategic importance of her country’s partnership with Angola and its valorization.

The head of Namibian diplomacy welcomes the fact that the Joint Commission mechanism will soon be elevated to a binational mechanism, which will be co-chaired by the statesmen of the two countries, which in her opinion is proof of the maturity of relations bilateral.

The Namibian ruler spoke to an audience of more than 200 people present at the colloquium on “The reasons for investing in Angola”, held in Windhoek, Wednesday (15), by the Angolan Embassy in Namibia, in celebration of 48 years of independence national.

Minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah considers cooperation between Angola and Namibia to be excellent in various sectors, with emphasis on political, diplomatic, economic, social, as well as defense and security.

Recalling that this cooperation has expanded since the signing of the Framework Agreement that establishes the Permanent Joint Commission on Cooperation and the Joint Commission on Defense and Security (JCDS), in 1992.

For him, the deepening of relations between the two countries will undoubtedly increase trade volume, as well as allowing the review and identification of other areas of cooperation, further realizing the potential that exists between Angola and Namibia with benefit for the two peoples.

The deputy prime minister and minister of International Relations and Cooperation of Namibia recognized, on the occasion, the contribution of the Government of Angola to the dialogue for peace, security and stability in Africa, particularly in the Great Lakes Region and Central Africa.

In turn, the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Angola to the Republic of Namibia, Jovelina Imperial, highlighted the fact that the country, as a member and President Pro Tempore of SADC, is contributing to the achievement of the region’s integration goals, with the Lobito Corridor concession.

Emphasizing that this will help boost the regional economy and beyond borders.

With regard to bilateral cooperation, Ambassador Jovelina Imperial mentioned the signing, this year, of the Memorandum of Understanding between Sonangol and NAMCOR, with the aim of expanding the scope of their partnership in the oil and gas sector.

The lecture was given by the head of the investment capture and promotion department at AIPEX, Bruno Baptista, who spoke about the Foreign Investment Law and the Business Opportunities that the country offers in the various areas of investment, highlighting commercial exchanges between Angola and the countries of the region, the continent and the world.

Namibian government officials and businesspeople, the diplomatic corps accredited in Namibia and the Angolan community and other nationalities residing in this region were present at the event.
