Africa-Press – Angola. Angola made a positive assessment of its participation in ITB Berlin, the world’s main tourism fair, from March 3 to 5 this year, where it promoted its gastronomy, music and elements of national identity, attracting visitors’ attention to the event.

The information was released on Thursday, in Luanda, by the deputy director general of the Institute for the Promotion of Tourism (INFOTUR), Bruno de Matos, during the press conference to review Angola’s participation in ITB Berlin, in Germany.

At the time, he said that it was possible to promote the country as a tourist destination.

He explained that Angola managed to arouse the interest of major international players in the tourism sector, who expressed their intention to associate with the Angolan brand, in an event that had 97 thousand participants and 5,601 exhibitors from 166 countries.

He highlighted that the agreements reached at the event were worth around 46 billion euros.

Angola participated with 22 tour operators and provided a room dedicated to the production of media content to promote national products, which reached more than one million views.

The opening gala was attended by 600 guests, where gastronomy, music and other elements of national identity were highlighted.

With regard to institutional meetings, 14 meetings were held with several international tour operators, who expressed interest in collaborating with Angola.

The event also allowed the production of a manual on investment opportunities in the country.

The exhibition served to encourage tour operators to invest in promoting their services on digital platforms, with a focus on increasing international visibility.

He further added that all audiovisual content produced during the event reached 125 million views.

Regarding challenges in the tourism sector, the need to increase infrastructure, organize areas of tourist interest and invest in other strategic actions was emphasized.
