Africa-Press – Angola. The National Ju-jitsu Team reclaimed the title of African champion of the championship that ended on Sunday in Marrakesh (Morocco).
After winning the event in 2022, held at the Pavilhão Multiusos do Kilamba, in Luanda, with 23 gold medals, 18 (silver) and five (bronze), this time, the national combined totaled 16 medals, 13 of which were Gold, one silver and two bronze.
On Saturday, in its debut, Angola had already won nine medals (six gold, one silver and two bronze), increasing its tally at the end of the continental competition to 16.
18 athletes were part of the National Team, with the five female athletes winning a gold medal each.
These are fighting style athletes Rosângela Teixeira (-49 kgs), Ana Vilela (-62 kgs) and Luzimery Garcia (+70 kgs) and Ne-Waza style athletes Elaine Musungo (-69 kgs) and Ruthi Baltazar (-52 kgs) .
The national team, which arrived in the country this morning, competed for the fourth time in an African Championship, after having been in the 2014 (South Africa), 2015 (Tunisia) and 2022 (Luanda) editions.
