Africa-Press – Angola. The deputy to the National Assembly (AN), Suzana Augusta de Melo, was unanimously elected this Monday, in Nairobi, Kenya, President of the Finance and Resource Mobilization Committee of the Parliamentary Forum of the International Conference on the Region of the Great Lakes (FP-CIRGL), for a three-year term.
The election of the Angolan parliamentarian took place on the first day of work at the first Statutory Meeting of the Finance and Resource Mobilization Committee of the CIRGL Parliamentary Forum which, among several issues, is analyzing the financial report from January to October 2023.
The discussion of the Parliamentary Forum’s budget proposal for the period 2024-2026 and focusing on the preparation of Audit Reports for the period 2021-2023 is also on the work agenda.
The Angolan Parliamentary delegation, which, in addition to the deputy, Suzana Augusta de Melo, includes the deputies, Sérgio Vaz and Celso Capingala, will also participate in the 27th Ordinary session of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Forum of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region.
On the sidelines of the work session, the Angolan parliamentary delegation held a consultation meeting with Sianga Abílio, Angolan ambassador to Kenya and Permanent Representative of Angola to the United Nations Offices in Nairobi.
The Parliamentary Forum of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (FP-CIRGL), created on December 4, 2008, in Kigali, Rwanda, is an interparliamentary organization that brings together the National Parliaments of the twelve Member States of the CIRGL, namely, Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic, Congo-Brazzaville, DRC, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Sudan, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia.
