Africa-Press – Angola. Motorists requested greater speed in the construction of the bridge over the Capacala river, on national road 230, in the city of Dondo, municipality of Cambambe, province of Cuanza Norte.
Motorists made this appeal to allow the safe circulation of vehicles, because the alternative route does not offer good conditions for traffic.
With the intense rains that the municipality has been experiencing in recent days, it is difficult to drain water along the alternative route.
Jorge Gonçalves, who travels the Luanda-Huambo route, pointed out that given the importance of the bridge, the works would have been carried out more quickly, so that it would not cause too much embarrassment for drivers.
Vicente Ferreira Manuel, who travels the Ndalatando-Dondo route, fears the collapse of the shackles placed at the alternative point, as they were superimposed on the ground.
“The bridge, in addition to facilitating motorists, would also help pedestrians, in connecting the city center and some peripheral areas, hence the urgency in completing the works”, he maintained.
The work, which began in June this year, is delayed in completion, initially scheduled for this December.
The company justifies the failure to meet the deadline by the delay in the allocation of financial benefits, by the Ministry of Finance.
