Africa-Press – Angola. The first provincial secretary of the MPLA, Marcos Nhunga, this Friday urged public office holders to redouble their supervision of the projects of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) and the program to combat hunger and Poverty.

According to the politician, this measure must also involve party leaders and involves strengthening government action, aiming to improve the work of the provincial government.

Speaking on the occasion of the New Year greeting ceremony of MPLA activists, Marcos Nhunga said that 2024 will be a year of many challenges and will require greater commitment and responsibility from party and government bodies in carrying out and monitoring political and governance tasks.

Meanwhile, he mentioned that in the political domain, the challenges focus on the successful holding of the assemblies to renew the mandates of the Municipal and Communal and Action Committees (CAP), as well as the political and ideological training of the militants, with a view to their active participation in the actions inherent to the development of the province and strengthening of the organization.

He highlighted that the ideological training of young people must serve to instill in them the spirit of patriotism and defense of the party’s principles and values.

The event culminated with the presentation of a message from the leaders, managers, staff and workers of the MPLA Provincial Committee, who committed to working towards the realization of the party’s aspirations outlined for the five-year period 2022/2027, aimed at improving the quality of life of the population.
