Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, met this Thursday, in Luanda, with the American Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, within the framework of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
At the end of the hearing, no information was provided to the press about the conversation, which lasted almost an hour, held with the American leader, who arrived in the Angolan capital on Wednesday night, following a tour of the African continent, which took him to Cape Verde, Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire.
The meeting takes place after the Angolan Head of State met, in November last year, at the White House, with his American counterpart, Joe Biden.
On the occasion, the two countries established a sustainable partnership in key sectors, such as agriculture, commerce, telecommunications, renewable energy, oil refining, space exploration and defense and security.
The USA committed to investing 250 million dollars in the Lobito Corridor, to help make the project of massive circulation of goods between Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia a reality.
They also promised to invest in the renewable energy sector, with a package of USD 900 million.
