Moxico awaits completion of four PIIM projects

Africa-Press – Angola. Four of the 19 projects registered in the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) in the main municipality of the province of Moxico are awaiting completion, due to alleged financial difficulties.

This involves the rehabilitation of the health center in the Alto Luena neighborhood, expansion of a primary school in the Mandembue neighborhood, on the outskirts of Luena, implementation of a water system in the Cangumbe commune and acquisition of a raft for the population to cross the river Zambeze, towards the municipality of Alto Zambeze.

About the progress of PIIM in the district, the Municipal Administrator, Horácio Sachamuha, said that the aforementioned works, with emphasis on the health center and the school, benefited from a redefinition of the project, allowing the expansion of the structure, the judge by population growth.

In view of this restructuring of the project, it forced the change of the initial contract, requiring the increase of more financial resources.

Horácio Satchamuha promised that the aforementioned works will be completed this year, with the mobilization of resources from the oil differential.

PIIM’s financial portfolio in the municipality of Moxico is set at three billion, 943 million, 297 thousand kwanzas, with only 934 million, 783 thousand kwanzas remaining to be paid.

The municipality of Moxico, one of nine in the province with the same name, has more than 465 thousand inhabitants.
