Africa-Press – Angola. The Union of Angolan Journalists (UJA) considered, this Wednesday, in Luanda, António Piçara, former ANGOP journalist, who died on Monday, victim of illness, a notable professional.

In a condolence note sent, he recalls that he entered Angolan journalism, through the Angola Press News Agency, (ANGOP), in the 80s, where he held several roles, with emphasis on editor of the Political Desk, National Editor and Delegate ANGOP Regional Office for the provinces of Huíla, Namibe and Cunene.

Formally committed to the profession, Piçarra was also part of the company Executve Center, owner of the titles, Economia e Mercado, Sabores and Austral ART, as Editor-in-Chief.

It also highlights, in the CV of António Piçarra, member of UJA, the role of editor-in-chief of the private periodical AGORA.

In the document, the UJA expresses that Piçarra honestly aligned his journalistic approaches, based on ethical and deontological values, which makes him a professional committed to the class.

In this hour of mourning and pain, the UJA Executive Secretariat regrets the misfortune that leaves the class more impoverished and addresses the collective of journalists and the family, feelings of regret.
