MPLA in Cuando Cubango reaffirms continued commitment to solving the population’s problems

Africa-Press – Angola. The first secretary of the MPLA in Cuando Cubango, José Martins, reaffirmed, this Friday, the party’s continued commitment to solving the problems that still afflict the population.

The politician, who spoke in the commune of Longa, municipality of Cuito Cuanavale, during the presentation of the MPLA’s Political Agenda, highlighted the need for citizens’ participation in the country’s governing life, with valuable contributions to solving the most pressing problems.

José Martins encouraged local families to be more involved in agricultural activity, taking advantage of the potential that Cuando Cubango has for this purpose.

The preservation of moral and ethical values in communities also deserved the first secretary’s attention, in order to promote healthy and peaceful coexistence, a reality that must place due responsibility on activists.

The MPLA will work for three days in the municipality of Cuito Cuanavale, with the presence of the coordinator of the Monitoring Group of the Political Bureau for Cuando Cubango, Marciel Capama.

Women encouraged to cultivate rice

The coordinator of the Monitoring Group of the MPLA Political Bureau to Cuando Cubango, Marciel Capama, was satisfied with the engagement of 135 peasant women in rice cultivation on 600 hectares in the village of Masseca, as part of the diversification of cereal promotion.

The agricultural field was created in 2024, by the municipal administration of Cuito Cuanavale. It has technical support from the Longa Agroindustrial Farm, dedicated to large-scale rice production.

For Maricel Capama, the initiative should be replicated in other municipalities, aiming to reduce imports of the aforementioned cereal.

The coordinator took the opportunity to deliver various seeds, hoes, machetes and sprayers.
