Africa-Press – Angola. Seventy-five works by fifty artists will be on display, from the 22nd of February, at the National Museum of Natural History, in an initiative by the artist Álvaro Macieira.
Titled “Art is the oasis of all deserts”, the number of works represents the year of National Independence and the 50 artists symbolize 50 years since colonial liberation.
According to the artist, half of the paintings are from his collection.
The exhibition can be seen in the International Exhibition Hall of the National Museum of Natural History, located on Rua da Muxima, in Kinaxixi, in Luanda, from 5 pm.
Álvaro Macieira, born in 1958, in the province of Uíge, is a journalist, writer, visual artist and cultural consultant.
He was Culture Editor, collaborated on Rádio Nacional de Angola, TPA and the BBC Cultural Tribune – London, in Portuguese.
He is a member of the Union of Angolan Writers and the National Union of Visual Artists.
He published three books “Castro Soromenho: Cinco Depoimentos”, “Cantos de Amor” and “Centuries of Love”.
