Africa-Press – Angola. At least 86 vulnerable people, including ex-military personnel and the SAN community, benefited Monday, in the municipality of Quipungo, province of Huíla, from four thousand rustic chicks, at a rate of 20 for each, with a view to stimulating the production of broiler chickens and eggs.
This is a free distribution of Social Action, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland, whose beneficiaries received, in October 2023, training in poultry production and promotion offered by the Commercial and Industrial Agricultural Association of Huíla (AAPCIL ), who sponsored the acquisition of the chicks.
Speaking on the sidelines of the delivery of the birds, the municipal administrator, José dos Santos Vital, highlighted that with the delivery, the beneficiaries will be able to increase the production of poultry and eggs, aiming to guarantee food and nutritional security.
The local administration, according to the person responsible, intends with this challenge to boost family production of meat and eggs, as well as contribute to the family income of the communities covered.
According to the administrator, it is necessary for beneficiaries to apply the lessons learned in the training, in order to maintain the lot and avoid losses.
The municipality of Quipungo is 120 kilometers east of Lubango and has an estimated population of 215 thousand 196 inhabitants and has potential in cereal production.
