When speaking at the seminar on the modernization of judicial activity, the judge explained that this step will make it possible to obtain significant gains in procedural simplification and speed.
Likewise, he stressed, it will help to avoid and reduce pending legal proceedings and time and effort on useless and repetitive tasks.
“Evidently, this transformation will have a positive impact on the day-to-day lives of people, society and consequently the institution, which drives us to adopt new technologies, allowing personal and institutional activities to be achieved and resolved at speed. with one click”, he highlighted.
He further stated that, given this finding, the judiciary, as an organ of State sovereignty, cannot remain on the sidelines of this evolutionary process, under penalty of being surpassed in time and space, in the face of this machine of great power that moves the world. and the digital system.
He mentioned that the digital transformation of the courts is based on a set of measures that goes through a process of legal and technological reforms, which aim to increase the level of efficiency and effectiveness of the courts, which certainly increases legal security, accessibility and trust of the courts. citizens in judicial bodies.
Efigénia Lima reiterated, however, that electronic processing is a gradual process, which involves legislative reforms, modernization of systems and above all investment in human capital, in order to guarantee a transition and transfer of knowledge to all employees linked to the judicial power.
