Africa-Press – Angola. The specialized committees of the National Assembly (AN) approved this Monday, in Luanda, the joint opinion report for Angola’s adherence to the Smart Africa Alliance Manifesto, which aims to transform the African continent into a single digital market.
The manifesto, which establishes advantages in the implementation of programs for the development of information and communication technologies in the mobilization of financial resources from partners and the private sector, will be voted on at the next Plenary meeting of the AN, scheduled for the following days 21st and 22nd of this month.
ASmart Africa Alliance is an international non-governmental organization, made up of African countries that adhere to its manifesto of October 29, 2013, by the African Union, Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), African Bank of Development (ADB), World Bank (WB), International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and the private sector.
It is a platform that facilitates exchange and knowledge between its members, aiming to transform the African continent into a single digital market and accelerate sustainable socio-economic development through the use of information and communication technologies.
The legal instrument referring to the adherence of the Republic of Angola to the Smart Africa Alliance Manifesto, which was signed on June 29, 2022, by the former minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Manuel Homem, guarantees its members have better access to broadband services.
Requests for adoption of minors
Also this Monday, Parliament’s specialized committees approved, without votes against, three requests for authorization to adopt the minors Alice Maria, Isabel Kieza and Rafaela Alexandre Ferreira.
Adoption depends on the authorization of the National Assembly, as it is requested by foreign citizens, under the terms of article 204 of the Family Code.
