Africa-Press – Angola. Lawyer Adalgisa Domingos Venâncio pointed out, this Tuesday, the constant absence of parents in the family, as they are responsible for shaping their children’s personalities, as the main cause of children’s involvement in crime.

The lawyer, who was speaking during a lecture addressed to the National Police in the municipality of Huambo, under the theme “The role of parents in their children’s education”, said that monitoring parents in the growth phase of their children helps in understanding the good principles that govern society.

He indicated that parents, as they are figures who impose limits and security on their children, their absence generates many negative consequences, such as disobedience to the law imposed by the authorities.

With its absence, he continued, children tend to be more insecure, aggressive and inferior, growing up with a feeling of rejection and abandonment.

Hence, Adalgisa Domingos Venâncio called for the fight against the absence of fathers in families, such as the escape from fatherhood, domestic violence, among other social evils.

In turn, the second commander of the National Police in the municipality of Huambo, quartermaster Antunes Capusso, considered the lecture important, which served to contain unnecessary absences of parents.

He called on parents to be more welcoming towards their children, to reduce the social traumas that are occurring, in addition to the need to intensify education and teaching, so that they can shape their conduct in the communities.

The lecture, held at the Municipal Command of the National Police in Huambo, took place on the occasion of Father’s Day, which is celebrated today.

When speaking in the lecture on “The role of parents in the education of their children”, the administrator of the municipality of Caála, Rubem Etome, requested greater responsibility and rigor from parents in the process of educating their children, to build a healthy society.

During the event, promoted by the local directorate of Social Action and Former Combats, on the occasion of Father’s Day, which is celebrated today, he highlighted that the lack of responsibility and maturity of many parents is the main cause of escape from fatherhood.

The administrator also highlighted the rate of children in and on the streets, as well as family abandonment as issues that are related to the unseemly acts of parents, and therefore advised, on this date, a reflection in favor of combating these evils.

For her part, the director of Social Action and Former Combats in the municipality of Caála, Marizete da Silva Dias dos Santos Manjenje, reported that, from January to the present date, there have been 26 cases of evasion of paternity, a situation that worries the authorities administrative.

He said that the cases are characterized by non-compliance with the provision of food to children, evasion of parenthood and other care to assist the children, the majority of whom continue to undergo counseling at the institution, with a view to achieving a favorable outcome for the minors.

The representative of the local Synod of the Evangelical Congregational Church in Angola (IECA), pastor Estêvão Niuca, called for the education of children based on religious principles, so that they will be, in the future, responsible adults committed to the family and well-being Social.
