Africa-Press – Angola. The possible solutions for the economic development of Angola, without omitting the intangible factors that condition the growth of the economy, are portrayed in the book entitled ‘Understanding the Angola of tomorrow…Today’, launched this Thursday, in Luanda, by the academic Alves da Rocha.
With four chapters and 283 pages, the academic work brings a critical reflection and commitment to the country’s economic future and the prosperity of Angolans.
When presenting the book, which is being sold at 15 thousand kwanzas, the vice-rector for the academic area of the Catholic University of Angola (UCAN), Maria Miguel, explained that the work refers to interpretations on relevant themes, such as ideologies and models development, education and scientific research.
The academic also said that the author makes an incursion into the international situation, which has been deteriorating since February 2022.
He added that investigative work provokes discussions in academic circuits, with emphasis on scholars of subjects linked to economic growth and national development.
For his part, the author of the book, Alves da Rocha, said that his work is a warning in the field of unemployment and poverty, related to the growth capacity of the Angolan economy.
Alves da Rocha has two postgraduate degrees, completed in France, one in economic models and the other in restrictive economic practices.
The academic, with 13 books published on the economic and social reality of Angola and Sub-Saharan Countries, is a member of the Order of Angolan Economists and the Scientific Council of UCAN.
Between October and December 2016, he was a visiting professor at the Center for African Studies, at the University of Oxford.
Angolan Alves da Rocha is a member of the Center for Studies and Scientific Research (CEIC) at the Catholic University of Angola, created in 2002.
