Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, expressed, this Thursday, in Luanda, best wishes to the Namibian people and Parliament in the common effort to promote peace, prosperity and lasting development.
In a congratulatory note, on the occasion of this country’s National Independence Day, which takes place this Thursday, the leader of the Angolan Parliament considered the event to be a source of pride for all Namibians, “as it marks the struggle and determination of its people in achieving freedom and self-determination.”
He emphasized that Namibia’s independence is a historic milestone that represents overcoming challenges and building a better future for everyone, especially in the southern region.
“May this day be celebrated with joy and hope, reaffirming the commitment to building a fair, democratic and prosperous society for all generations”, he highlighted.
Carolina Cerqueira announced the strengthening of relations between the parliaments of the two countries in the areas of training and exchange, within the scope of the technological and functional modernization of the two institutions.
“May peace and unity continue to be the pillars of your nation and may the diversity and cultural richness of your people always be celebrated and valued”, he expressed
The President of the Assembly hopes that Namibia’s independence will always be remembered as a testament to the strength and resilience of its people.
“Congratulations Namibia on your independence day and may this date always be celebrated with great pride and joy by all Namibians, despite the recent loss of the failed president Hage Geingob”, he concluded.
Namibia is one of the youngest African countries, whose independence occurred on March 21, 1990.
