Africa-Press – Angola. The price of a taxi fare remains at 150 kwanzas, pending negotiations with the Executive, said this Friday, in Luanda, the president of the National Association of Taxi Drivers of Angola (ANATA), Francisco Paciente.

At a press conference, the person responsible announced that, in the coming days, a proposal on the price update that will serve as a basis for negotiation will be sent to the Ministry of Finance, through the Price Regulation Agency.

According to Francisco Paciente, before the deactivation of subsidy cards and the rise in fuel prices in the country, there will be no change or pronouncement on the cost of a taxi ride.

Only after the deactivation of the cards and a possible increase in fuel prices will ANATA comment on this issue in a gesture of reciprocity, he stated.

He added that the race may undergo appropriate changes, “to maintain the costs of maintaining the resources”.

Presidential Decree no 68/24, of March 7th, sets April 30th of this year as the deadline for the end of the gasoline subsidy for taxi drivers, fishermen and farmers.

After that date, the cards will be deactivated.

ANATA currently has 30,695 members, controls more than five thousand young lottokers and has representations in the provinces of Luanda, Huíla, Bengo, Benguela, Cabinda, Huambo, Cunene, Lunda-Norte, Moxico, Malanje and Cuanza-Sul.
