Africa-Press – Angola. Two hundred members of the Forum of Combatants of the Battle of Cuito Cuanavale are involved in agricultural projects in the province of Cabinda, through the “23 de Março” cooperative.

The cooperative has been operating for two years in the village of São Vicente and has three hectares, where various products are being grown, including cassava, jinguba, corn, macunde beans, sweet potatoes, cabbage, tomatoes and kale.

The information was provided on Saturday, by the deputy provincial delegate of this forum, Vicente Alexandre, during the ceremony that marked March 23, “Liberation Day of Southern Africa”.

Vicente Alexandre recognized that the agricultural products harvested have contributed significantly to improving the diet of those assisted.

He said that the cooperative benefited from resources and seeds, within the scope of the Executive’s program aimed at the socio-professional reintegration of this group.

It has a tractor, plow and motor pump.

In his intervention, the delegate requested government support in the acquisition of means of transport, for the collection and distribution of personnel, as well as the flow of products from the countryside to the city vice versa.
