Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the Order of Architects, in Angola, Vity Claude Nsalambi, defended, this Monday, in Luanda, the promotion of building maintenance courses.
The person in charge, who was speaking on the sidelines of the meeting about the proposed Presidential decree that approves the regulation on issuing construction licenses, said that it is not enough to build, but it is necessary to provide due maintenance to the works, with well-defined projects and look at the lifespan of a work as a whole.
He explained that the order of architects has been carrying out a series of training to avoid poorly designed works and takes into account fire safety regulations.
“Many of the fires are the result of poorly designed works in the electrical system, use of poor quality electrical conductors.
Regarding the meeting on the reduction of administrative procedures for works, the president, Vity Claude Nsalambi, spoke of the need to take into account technical issues in simplifying administrative procedures for works, without compromising the physical integrity of people.
Participants complained about the long period for licensing works, a situation that discourages the construction of several projects.
The intention is to reduce the procedures, from the request to the project evaluation stages.
