Africa-Press – Angola. Africa Global Logistics, manager of the multipurpose terminal at the Port of Lobito (containers and general cargo), intends to boost business in various regions of Angolan territory, the consortium’s commercial director said this Tuesday.

He revealed that the consortium made an investment of 200 million dollars, distributed, among other issues, to the development of human skills and also the technical part, namely infrastructure and equipment.
“In terms of results, we expect an increase of 50 percent, but our vision is to have the Port of Lobito as a strategic transshipment platform for minerals, including those from Angola, and the development of the agricultural and livestock industry along the Corridor “, he emphasized.
He took the opportunity to announce the inauguration of the multipurpose terminal (general and containerized cargo), on Wednesday (27), an event where an executive delegation from the consortium will be present, as well as the Angolan Minister of Transport, Ricardo D’ Abreu.
Porto do Lobito asserts itself as Landlord
Porto do Lobito, as Landlord, will from now on focus its activities on regulating and supervising the activities of operators, stated the President of its Board of Directors.
Celso Rosas was speaking during the IV Porto Staff Meeting, which is analyzing issues relating to the organization and operation of the company, which brings together specialists from different areas.
For the PCA, holding the meeting is a happy coincidence because, among the topics discussed, is the contours of the New General Labor Law, which comes into force this Tuesday (26).
On this topic, Norberto Capessa, Judge Counselor of the Supreme Court, stated that it brings the “great advantage” of the employment contract being for an indefinite period.
“This is a law that determines the development of a society”, he considered.
Norberto Capessa also explained that in the previous law, in which the contract was determined, the worker was never integrated into the company’s permanent staff.
“It was an employer’s management tool, because it aimed to meet the transitory or temporary needs of their company”, he clarified.
Other topics were also addressed at the IV Staff Meeting, such as Ethics, a principle that is not exhausted, by speaker Carlos Pacatolo, and The challenges of Porto do Lobito in the current context, in charge of the executive administrator for the commercial area of that company port worker, Janet Matana.
