Africa-Press – Angola. Bravos do Maquis wants to start the last round of Girabola with a victory in this Friday’s clash, against Desportivo da Lunda-Sul, and clean up the “pale” campaign of the initial stage.
According to Maquisardes coach, Mário Soares, when speaking at the preview of Girabola’s 16th round, Maquisardes’ performance was “terrible”, with a record of five wins, two draws and seven defeats, in 14 matches played.
“This is unacceptable for a team that aims at the top,” he said.
Faced with this runner-up in the race (33 points less than Petro, the leader), Mário Soares will count on the reinforcements hired at the end of the first round, such as the Nigerian Emanuel Edmond, the South African Nigo and the Angolan Messias.
The two teams have already faced each other on five occasions, with Maquisardes having the advantage with four victories, compared to Desportivo’s one.
These meetings produced eight goals for the Moxico team, against four for the Lundas.
FC Bravos do Maquis occupies eighth place in the league table, with 17 points, while Desportivo da Lunda-Sul is second with 33 points, one less than leader Petro de Luanda.
