Africa-Press – Angola. The vice-governor for the Political, Social and Economic sector of Huambo, Angelino Elavoco, called, this Friday, for the exploration of local tourism potential, with a view to increasing economic income and ensuring the employability of young people.

The person in charge was speaking at the opening ceremony of the third edition of the Business and Connectivity Forum, promoted by the Media Nova Group, which brings together businesspeople, entrepreneurs, investors and producers from Angola and neighboring countries, to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the business world. in the 21st century.

The vice-governor said that the region has better arable land, “Tarras Raras”, diamonds, gold, a financial sector that is increasingly consolidating, a qualified workforce, a market that represents close to three million consumers, who constitute a sea of ​​opportunities for those who, in fact, have a vision of how to do business.

He recalled that after having followed the first and second editions of this Business and Connectivity Forum, which is already a brand of the Media Nova Group, coincidence or not, the third takes place in the province of Huambo, when used well, they are always a great opportunity communication for companies.

Angelino Elavoco highlighted that gender events always constitute a space for sharing, where to obtain new contacts, expand business areas, create synergy with potential collaborators or suppliers and facilitate convergence between different economic agents.

He highlighted what the lack of food represents, mainly, for the most vulnerable communities or people in the country who, through small producers, peasant families, agricultural cooperatives, farmers or farms, much has been done to minimize food shortages.

Pedro Bernardo Neto highlighted that the war between Russia and Ukraine worsened food shortages in Africa by around 30 million tons, particularly with regard to grains such as corn, soybeans and wheat that were imported from those countries..

At this time, Angola has a deficit of high quality seeds and inputs, to allow food production to increase in the near future, despite the recognized efforts of local institutions, such as the African Development Bank and others, which have provided financing. for the agricultural sector.

The event, lasting two days, addresses several topics, with emphasis on the Lobito Corridor, production credits and access to financing funds, aims to provide a working environment so that participants can establish new partnerships and provide a perspective clear about what is most modern and innovative in the business world.
