Africa-Press – Angola. The game between 1o de Agosto and Desportivo da Lunda-Sul focuses on the 17th round of the National Football Championship of the I division, Girabola’2023/24, to be played on Wednesday at the França Ndalu Stadium, in Luanda.

The “military”, which has a new leadership elected for the four-year period 2024/28, occupies fifth place, with 21 points, against 34 from Lundas do Sul, in third place, the same as Petro and Sagrada Esperança of LundaNorte, in first and second place.

Despite the difference in points between the two teams, 1.o de Agosto, playing at home, is the main favorite to win the three points.

Sagrada Esperança from Lunda Norte, one of the leaders of the competition, travels to São Salvados de Mbanza Kongo from Zaire, ninth place with 16 points.

In case of triumphs, the two Lunda teams (Sagrada and Desportivo) will be separated from the front trio, as Petro de Luanda will not play in this round against Santa Rita de Cássia do Uige, due to their continental commitment (Club League Champions of Africa) next weekend, at the Estádio 11 de Novembro, in the Angolan capital, against TP Mazembe, from DR Congo, for the second leg of the quarter-finals.

In the first leg, played last Saturday in Lubumbashi, the two teams drew 0-0.
