Africa-Press – Angola. The Republic of Angola and the Kingdom of Spain expressed this Tuesday, in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), their interest in increasing friendly and cooperative relations in bilateral and multilateral domains.

According to a note, the common position was highlighted during the meeting that the ambassador of Angolan Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union (AU), Miguel Bembe, held with his Spanish counterpart, Guilhermo Lopez Mac -Lellan.

At the meeting, held at the facilities of the Angolan Diplomatic Mission in Addis Ababa, the ambassadors were unanimous in highlighting the importance of multisectoral exchange, particularly in the economic-business, political and cultural aspects.

They mentioned the business opportunities that Angola offers and which have attracted Spanish investors to the market, implementing projects in the areas of energy and water, transport, fishing, geology, health, education, information and communication technology, civil construction, agricultural industry, food and pharmaceutical.

Ambassador Miguel Bembe takes advantage of the opportunity to inform his interlocutor that Angola will formally assume its seat on the African Union Peace and Security Council tomorrow, Wednesday.

He reviewed Angola’s participation in various structures of the African Union and the processes led by the country within the continental organization, emphasizing the role played by President João Lourenço as AU Champion for Peace and Reconciliation in Africa and Mediator for the Conflict between the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Rwanda.

In turn, Ambassador Guilhermo Lopez Mac-Lellan stated that, within the framework of the European Union, Spain supports the resolutions of peace and security issues sponsored by the African Union.
