Africa-Press – Angola. The management of Wiliete Sport Clube de Benguela – SAD and coach Silvestre Pelé terminated on Wednesday, by mutual agreement, the sports employment contract that linked them.
According to a statement from this association, this Thursday, the termination of the contract is a result of the poor sporting results of Wiliete de Benguela’s main football team in Girabola2023/24.
The document states that Wiliete’s Management praises the professional attitude and qualities of the coach and thanks him for the serious, honest and exemplary way in which this cycle ended, wishing Silvestre Pelé personal and professional success.
The statement explains, however, that the club’s main football team will now be guided on an interim basis by a technical committee led by Francisco Paulino.
“The announcement of the team’s new coach will be made at an opportune moment, after a decision has been taken by the Management and consequent agreement between the parties”, the document reads.
Last Wednesday (03), Wiliete’s team suffered a home defeat against Interclube, by 1-2.
At the end of the 17th round of the first division National Football Championship, Girabola2023-2024, the Benguela team occupies sixth place, with 21 points. The leader of the competition is Desportivo da Lunda Sul, with 35.
