Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and Spain expressed their satisfaction with the announcement of the opening, soon, of flights by Angolan Airlines TAAG directly to Madrid.
This information was provided Thursday evening by Téte António, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Angola, after having received Manuel Larrera, ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain in Angola, in audience.
According to the official, the opening of direct flights between Luanda and Madrid represents an added value for Angola and Spain, as the air movement benefits not only the two countries but also facilitates the handling of passengers and goods with the countries of the South America.
A note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the audience also served for the two individuals to talk about the deepening of bilateral relations, the forecast of holding an economic forum between Spain and Angola, as well as the program of exchanges of visits to the highest level.
The Spanish Government has placed Angola at the heart of its development strategy based on mutual cooperation between Europe and Africa, adds the document that highlights the Focus Africa 2023 plan, which will channel institutional support for Spanish companies’ investments on the continent.
With Angola, Spain intends to build different, more comprehensive relations, although that European country’s plan is more ambitious, as it wants to become the European Union’s reference for the African continent.
