Africa-Press – Angola. The director of the Office of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports of Bié, Afonso Belo Sanguvila, clarified today the existence, in this province, of two infrastructures capable of housing the sports associations that intend to establish their headquarters.
Contrary to the constant complaints from some representatives of sports associations about the lack of spaces to settle, the person in charge illustrated the Casa da Juventude, located in the São José neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Cuito, and the Casa das Associações, inside the city.
He explained that the Youth House, with 12 available compartments, is in good condition from the point of view of physical infrastructure, with only the equipment missing in terms of furniture.
These means, according to Afonso Belo Sanguvila, can be acquired by associations interested in installing their headquarters there, within their financial and administrative autonomy, with their own resources resulting from the collection of members’ dues.
In the case of Casa das Associações, where more than 10 youth organizations already operate, he said that it has spaces to house another 15, but with the condition that they pay, monthly, a rent of 20 thousand kwanzas for the maintenance of the spaces, cleaning, energy and water costs.
“Therefore, we believe there are no difficulties in terms of space to accommodate the province’s sports associations and centers. It just depends on their willingness to join these places to install themselves and function in the best way possible, depending on the conditions they create”, highlighted the person in charge.
However, he reiterated this office’s commitment to providing all necessary support in this regard.
In the province of Bié, 11 associations and three sports centers are controlled.
Of these, only the chess association has a locatable office, which operates in inappropriate facilities.
Because of this, the president of this association, Samuel Ulica, expressed, in a recent interview, the need for a new space with adequate conditions for a headquarters and practice of the sport.
