Africa-Press – Angola. Two hundred million kwanzas are available to finance street traders and economic agents, in the province of Cuanza Norte, within the scope of the Informal Economy Reconversion Program (PREI).
Speaking to the press, the president of the Association of Businessmen of Cuanza Norte, Nádia Júlio Laranjeira, informed that the amounts, to be operated by the non-bank financial institution (Kixicrédito), will cover traders in the municipalities of Cazengo and Cambambe.
According to the person responsible, who spoke at the weekend, at a clarification meeting with economic agents from the municipality of Cambamba, the financing varies from 50 thousand to seven million kwanzas and will cover individual traders who have a regular business and regularized taxes.
It will also benefit collective traders or members of cooperatives, as long as they have a street vendor card.
Nádia Júlio Laranjeira clarified that the amounts are refundable, over a period of 24 months, with a grace period of six months.
The financing, he informed, is extended to legally constituted companies, with regular business and that do not have debts with the General Tax Administration.
The businesswoman considered that the local economy is going through difficult times and with this financing there will be monetary circulation, an increase in jobs and an improvement in the lives of families.
In the province of Cuanza Norte, around one hundred recently formalized commercial operators, in the municipality of Cazengo, have already benefited from financial support, within the scope of PREI.
The traders are part of a group of 1,350 economic agents who have signed up to bank credit to promote commercial activity.
According to the director of the Provincial Office for Integrated Economic Development of Cuanza Norte, Fernando Mesquita, the implementation of the program in the province faces numerous difficulties, due to the fact that many beneficiaries are not located, due to changing telephone numbers, lost documents, lack of payment taxes, among other constraints.
Fernando Mesquita informed that the entities are working to resolve the case.
Two billion kwanzas constitute the amount that PREI has available to finance recently formalized commercial operators across the country.
