Africa-Press – Angola. OMA’s deputy provincial secretary, Teresa Almeida Canda, highlighted, this Tuesday, the role played by women in maintaining peace, democracy and development in the region.

The leader, who spoke in the lecture on “The Role of Women in the Preservation of Peace”, highlighted that women continue to promote peace through dialogue between families, being one of the main agents of socialization.

He added that women have contributed to the development of family farming and assist the Executive in implementing programs and achieving social policies and gender equality.

The leader of the MPLA’s women’s formation said that the 22 years of peace in the country have provided stability, for this reason, she asked women in the region for greater engagement and dedication in the country’s economic and social development.

He explained that peace, achieved in 2002, allowed the construction of more private and public universities, schools, water and energy supply systems, construction of centralities, construction and rehabilitation of roads and other improvements registered in the country.

In turn, university professor Forje Paim, who spoke on “The role of women in preserving peace”, said that the continuity of preserving peace involves dialogue, starting in families.
