Africa-Press – Angola. The Bié Government consultant for the Political, Social and Communities area, Carlos Ulombe da Silva,in Cuito, considered youth to be immeasurable social capital, with increased responsibilities to leverage the country’s socioeconomic development.
The consultant was speaking at the thanksgiving service held at the Evangelical Church of the Brothers in Angola (IEIA), which marked the provincial event of April 14th, National Youth Day.
According to him, government authorities place this fringe at the center of priorities, focused on implementing public policies that improve the living conditions of their families.
Carlos Ulombe da Silva exemplified that, in the last five years alone, the Government of Bié built 97 schools and employed 3,463 young people in the works of the Integrated Program for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), as well as granting various financing, which are boosting the agribusiness and entrepreneurship in the province.
It also added to the investment made by the entities in the construction of green and leisure spaces for this layer, as well as providing improvements in the provision of training, both in higher education and in technical-professional training.
On the other hand, the consultant asked for the support of the church, family and society in general in changing young people’s behavior, to put an end to the vandalization of public property, drug use and smoking, delinquency, violent crime and other evils.
He also asked young people to embrace the benefits of Peace and National Independence, striving for the values of love, dialogue, understanding, moral, ethical, patriotic, cultural and religious values.
The act was witnessed by deputy Anastácio Severino Sambowé, the executive secretary of the Provincial Youth Council (CPJ) of Bié, Faustino Sassango, members of the Government, advisors and faithful.
