Africa-Press – Angola. The special representative for human rights issues of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Yang Xiaoukun, learned this Wednesday about the work carried out by the Angolan Ombudsman’s Office, within the framework of actions to strengthen the dialogue and cooperation between the two States.

During a courtesy meeting with the Ombudsman, Florbela Araújo, the parties exchanged ideas about the philosophy of each State in the application of human rights and participation in global governance.

According to Yang Xiaoukun, to strengthen cooperation with Angola, his country intends to act in various areas, with emphasis on mutual learning in order to promote economic development.

He also said that his country intends, internationally, to propose joint initiatives with Angola to develop global human rights.

In turn, the Ombudsman, Florbela Araújo, highlighted the importance of exchanging delegations, highlighting that the justice institutions of both countries could open up new opportunities for cooperation.

Florbela Araújo informed that the Ombudsman’s Office intends to get closer to citizens and, to this end, the institution is creating provincial services, as well as sending technical teams to these locations.

The two States have a long history of cooperation, which is based on different areas, such as oil, health, infrastructure, staff training, among others.

Angola and China are strategic partners, with political-diplomatic and cooperation relations that have seen a notable increase since 2000, enabling the signing of several legal instruments in the social, commercial and business domains.
