Africa-Press – Angola. The Chamber of Business Development (CAFE) will promote, from the 24th to the 26th of this month, in the province of Benguela, an International Forum for Investment in the Center and South of the country, within the scope of the Lobito Corridor.
According to a note from the organization sent this Friday, business opportunities will be presented for the Central and Southern regions of the country, in the fields of Agriculture, Industry, Transport, Logistics and Mining.
The objectives include encouraging partnerships between national and foreign companies for investment in the region, as well as promoting socialization meetings for investment partnerships with local government.
It is also expected to facilitate the intention between investors and high-level ministerial representatives, for each business area.
On the occasion, there will be an exhibition of national products and suppliers.
The Angolan Private Development and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX) will look into the procedures and incentives for investments in the country, while the Angolan Cargo and Logistics Certification Regulatory Agency (ARCCLA) will explain the criteria for certification and legalization of cargo and logistics for export in Angola, the document reads.
The Business Development Chamber is a non-profit institution governed by Angolan law and is based in Benguela.
The Lobito Corridor crosses Southern Africa and establishes itself as one of the main axes for the circulation of raw materials, products and merchandise, not only within the countries themselves, but above all due to the connection it establishes with the world market.
The Port of Lobito ensures a high percentage of the volume of international trade in the sub-region.
The Benguela Railway (CFB), which connects the Port of Lobito, starts in the province of Benguela, passing through Huambo, Bié and Moxico, in the town of Luau, where it connects with the African Union railway network.
Among CFB’s targeted traffic, such as those related to the transport of containers, fuels, construction materials, among others, the most significant potential is minerals, coming from the Democratic Republic of Congo, in the Katanga region, and Zambia, in the Copperbelt.
