Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, visited this Saturday, in Luanda, the “Cidade da China” shopping center, the largest market selling various products located in the Angolan capital.

Accompanied by senior officials from his office, the Angolan diplomat toured, on this his first visit, an expressive commercial area, with 16 aisles, housing more than 400 stores and a residential area with 29 buildings.

At the end of the visit, Téte António met with the Management of the Cidade da China Shopping Center, where support was given on the operation of this largest Asian shopping center in Angola.

Various products are sold at the shopping center, such as construction and decoration materials, party gifts, household items, household appliances, vehicle accessories, clothing, footwear, among other goods.

The products are sold retail and wholesale and the stores are open from the early hours of the day until 3 pm.

Located within the Industrial Pole of Viana, next to Via-Expresso and about 20 minutes from the new Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport, the “Cidade da China” shopping center welcomes the majority of foreign traders, especially Chinese, Namibians, Mauritanians, Cameroonians, Lebanese, Egyptians, among other nationalities.

In addition to the commercial area, the site has areas for the processing, assembly and storage of goods.

The “Cidade da China” shopping center, named this morning by minister Téte António as “Angola’s industrialization laboratory”, employs close to five (5) thousand Angolans and was developed by a group of Chinese businessmen, with the aim of contributing, significantly, for the diversification of the Angolan market.

The visit was guided by the President of the Council of Administration of the City of China, Jack Huang, among other diplomats, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Angola, Zhang Bin.
