Africa-Press – Angola. The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) arrested, on Friday, the administrative and financial director of the Port of Luanda, Wladmir Valter Sousa dos Santos, on suspicion of committing crimes of embezzlement and breach of trust.
According to a press release,the crimes are embodied in the improper and fraudulent use of supermarket bonus cards attributed to the Port of Luanda, which “were used for their own benefit in the amount of more than twenty million kwanzas”.
“In light of the facts, SIC Porto initiated investigative actions that culminated in the arrest of the financial director, as well as the seizure of the respective cards”, states the note.
The document clarifies that the suspect will be presented to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for first interrogation and then to the Guarantee Judge, for further procedures, while efforts are being taken to locate and detain others involved.
