Africa-Press – Angola. The daily production of oil in Angola increased, in the last fifteen days, from 1.1 to 1.2 million barrels (BPD), said, this Monday, the chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Agency of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG), Paulino Jerónimo.

According to the official, who did not elaborate on the causes of the “slight” increase in production, the forecast for this year is 1.47 million barrels of oil per day, even lower than the numbers reached in recent days.

Paulino Jerónimo advanced the data at a meeting with journalists, promoted by the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, as part of the mining week.

By the way, the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, who coordinated the conversation, said that “if it weren’t for the measures applied around the oil sector, in this year 2022, production would be in the order of 570 thousand barrels a day”.

The 2019-2025 concession program has been running since 2019 and in 2020 the 2020-2025 exploration strategy was approved. As a result of the execution of this strategy, more than 20 oil blocks were tendered and 30 will be tendered in the coming years.

In the meantime, the sector seeks to maintain the average levels of production achieved and continue to work on risk mitigation plans, that is, to focus on finding solutions that minimize the factors or elements that threaten estimated production.
