Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, received this Monday, in Luanda, a message from his Mauritanian counterpart, Mohammed El Ghazouani.
After delivering the letter, the minister advisor to the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Coumba Ba, informed that it has to do with the request for support for her country’s candidacy for the presidency of the African Center for Administrative Training and Research for the Development (CAFRAD, English acronym).
He explained that he received the support of President João Lourenço for this endeavor, highlighting that strengthening cooperation between the two countries was also discussed.
He made it known that the meeting also served to convey President El Ghazouani’s support for the Angolan Head of State’s efforts in resolving conflicts in Africa.
He was grateful for the welcome that the Mauritanian community has received in Angola, based on the good reports from them that they feel as if they were in their second country.
CAFRAD is an intergovernmental organization based in Tangier, Morocco, created in 1964 by African countries with the support of UNESCO with the aim of professionalizing public administration.
It currently has 38 member states, including the Republic of Angola.
Mauritania is campaigning to win the votes of member states in favor of its candidate for the post of director general of CAFRAD, Brahim Ould Messahoud.
