Africa-Press – Angola. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sonangol (PCA), Sebastião Pai Querido Gaspar Martins, announced this Thursday, in Luanda, the soon publication of the final results achieved by the oil company, during the economic year 2023.
Sebastião Martins spoke to the press minutes after the inauguration ceremony of the reappointed Sonangol Board of Directors, led by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
“Sonangol is in “financial health”, we will soon publish our final results for 2023, we have to continue working on increasing revenue, but this does not prevent us from carrying out our projects”, he said.
Also according to the source, the reappointment to the position means a vote of confidence and increased responsibilities, despite the energy transition phase, the country still has a great dependence on revenues from the oil sector and Sonangol is a fundamental part of this area.
For Sonangol’s PCA, the challenges are clear and were highlighted by the President of the Republic, namely, the increase in oil and gas production, the completion of the Lobito Refinery and the Barra do Dande Ocean Terminal, as well as the development of projects to create alternative energy sources in synergy with the company’s partners.
The executive directors Belarmino Emílio Chitangueleca, Baltazar Agostinho Gonçalves Miguel, Jorge Barros Vinhas and Olga Lukocheka da Silva Sabalo Miranda are part of Sonangol’s Board of Directors, chaired by Sebastião Pai Querido Gaspar Martins.
They also include the executive directors, Kátia Mariana Siliveli Epalanga Lutucuta and Osvaldo Inácio, and the non-executives Lopo Fortunato Ferreira do Nascimento, Bernarda Gonçalves Martins, Augusto Teixeira de Matos and André de Jesus Moda.
