Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, recommended, this Thursday, to the Board of Directors of Sonangol to work on increasing oil production, in particular gas, at a time when the country is no longer a member of the Organization of Exporting Countries of Petroleum.
“We must have the ambition to increase oil production and gas production”, highlighted the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, in the inauguration speech of the members of the Board of Directors of the state oil company.
“A new gas consortium was formed, changes were made to legislation to encourage gas production, in order to see if Angola is no longer just a large producer and exporter of oil but, if possible, preferably, a large producer and exporter of natural gas”, he said.
